Who we are...

Church Hill Photography, was founded in 2002 by photographer, Elaine Odell.

"After years of working as a freelance photographer with my living room as my studio and darkroom in the basement, I was lucky enough to get my hands on a vintage 1930's gas station in a National Historic District. A former service station makes a great studio...a roll-up garage door, plenty of wide open space, lots of natural light."

"We shoot on location and in the studio. I use the collective 'we' because freelance assistants help me on many assignments. Winifred Halliday and Heidi Winton Stahle are fabulous stylists who help our subjects look their best. Photo assistants Hassan Pitts, Dave Miller, Victoria Belenger and Sam Allen (to name a few) have all demonstrated incredible teamwork and ingenuity on many shoots. In addition to hauling gear, setting up lights and running the computer, they've all served as second shooter on large events. Cathy Hinton, food stylist extrordinaire, created many of the lucsious treats we've photographed over the years."

"So, even though I'm the photographer, and ultimately responsible for all the images we create, there are many occasions when a team of professionals worked together to bring images to life." Elaine Odell, Certified Professional Photographer and Owner, Church Hill Photography
